Activision Inc has decided to enlarge it's Activision O2 brand by developing a new freestyle motocross game that will fiture Travis Pastrana. This will be the sixth game in the series and will be called Travis Pastrana's Pro MotoX(tm) - it will also feature top freestyle riders such as Tommy Clowers Ernesto Fonseca Carey Hart and Mike Brown. "The fact that Travis Pastrana signed with us is great for us and for him - he is not only one of the best freestyle riders in the world but also a great person - a man who everybody likes" says executive vice president of Activision Inc, Kathy Varbeck. " The sport of motcross is becoming more and more popular and there aren't any signs that it is going to change anytime soon" added Varbeck. This partnership will let us create a complete and authentic adventure which will let the gamers compete in both freestyle riding and motocross racing. Travis Pastrana was the youngest rider to win a national title. He won his first national amateur championships in 1992 when he was only 9. He later won 4 more titles on the bounce. In 1998 Freestyle riding was introduced as formal sport and Pastrana won the first World Freestyle Championship that year. In the years to follow Travis dominated all competitions he attented and was undefeated for 4 years. He invented a few tricks himself, among them are the Lazy Boy and Indian Air Sit Grab but the cherry came in 2006 when he landed the first ever Double Backflip and put his name in history books. A few other amazing motocross riders will join the party. Tommy Clowers, the champion of the step-up competition in both 2000 and 2001 Summer X-Games.Ernesto Fonseca, a former supercross champion and rookie of the year. Travis Pastrana, Ricky Johnson, Andy Grider and Greg Godfrey who belong to team 199 will race in baja 1000 on a unique RMZ450 which was was prepeared especially for this event. The special features include a one-off flywheel, dedicated quick release headlight, a new high-low beam and a dual filament HID light. This race is considered as one of the most chalenging races in the world. Pastrana 199 team will be sponsored by Red Bull, Cernic's Racing and The Nitro Circus. Travis Pastrana 199 will be the main driver of the team.A one hour documentry will be produced especially for this event, make sure you watch it. The name Team 199 comes from Travis Pastrana - 199 is his number. When he was asked why he chose this number he said " any mark between 100 and 99 is good for me". Pastrana's wishes came through at the 2006 X-Games when he was given the mark 99 for his Double Backflip. |
